Российские художники в сердце Вечного города: диалог эпох в Базилике Сан-Витале
В знаменитой Базилике Сан-Витале в Риме, памятнике архитектуры IV века, открылась уникальная выставка современных российских мастеров. Этот проект превращает древнее пространство в площадку для диалога между прошлым и настоящим, где встречаются католическая и православная традиции.
Центральными экспонентами стали признанные мастера — академики Российской академии художеств Александр и Марк Смирновы и Дарья К., их картины обращаются к общехристианским ценностям, создавая художественный мост, объединяющий две ветви христианства. Так же экспозицию дополнили работы российских художников представленных Арт группой "Глазами Художника".
Особый интерес представляет работа, созданная Марком Смирновым совместно с настоятелем базилики и посвященная историческому моменту основания этого священного места.
Куратором выступила советник по культуре РАМС Дарья Карачева, чье видение позволило создать целостный и глубокий нарратив.
Эта выставка — больше, чем просто экспозиция; это уникальный диалог современного искусства, многовековой истории и живой веры в стенах одного из самых атмосферных храмов Рима.

Russian Artists in the Heart of the Eternal City: A Dialogue of the Epochs in the Basilica of San Vitale
A unique exhibition of contemporary Russian artists has opened in Rome's renowned Basilica of San Vitale, a 4th-century architectural monument. This project transforms this ancient space into a platform for dialogue between the past and the present, where Catholic and Orthodox traditions meet.
The central exhibitors include renowned masters Alexander and Mark Smirnov, and Daria K., academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts. Their paintings address common Christian values, creating an artistic bridge uniting the two branches of Christianity. The exhibition also includes works by Russian artists represented by the "Through the Eyes of an Artist" art group.
Of particular interest is a work created by Mark Smirnov in collaboration with the rector of the basilica, dedicated to the historical moment of the founding of this sacred site.

Alexander Maksimovich Smirnov is an Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.
He was born on April 9, 1946. His childhood and youth were spent in the Voronezh region.
He graduated from the Penza Art School named after A.K. Savitsky in 1975.
He studied at the Kharkov Institute in the Department of Monumental Painting.
Alexander Smirnov is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the International Art Fund.
In 2009, he was awarded the Golden Order "Service to Art" by the International Academy of Culture and Art.

I have initiated and realized art projects in diverse corners of the globe—from India and China to France, Italy, Egypt, and Bahrain.
Of particular value to me is the fact that my work has resonated within international political and diplomatic circles and is held in the private collections of individuals such as Sheikh Mubarak A Al Suwaiket, Prince Regent Karan Singh, the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Joanneke Balfoort, and the former President of Yemen, Ali Nasir Muhammad Al-Husani.
